about nama sushi bar
Nama is the premier sushi location and has been consistently voted number one for sushi in the Knoxville area. Whether you are looking to test the waters with your first sushi experience as many have since our opening, looking for a romantic dinner on date night, or headed out for a night with friends or family, Nama is the perfect place for you.
The original Nama Sushi Bar opened July of 2004 in the heart of Downtown Knoxville's 100 block of Gay Street. In 2011 the downtown restaurant doubled in size and transitioned into a modern and sophisticated atmosphere, by moving from its original spot to its new location at 506 S. Gay Street. Our popularity led to our second and ever popular location in Bearden in 2008.
In 2014, Nama opened their third location in Nashville. For those of you who are familiar and/or for those of you visiting this popular city…you may now join us for lunch or dinner at the corner of Elliston Place and 23rd Avenue North in Nashville near Vanderbilt University. Due to the success of the first Nashville location, the Nama Management team has opened a second location south of Nashville in Brentwood.
And now we've expanded in Knoxville to the Cedar Bluff area with our fifth venue, located at 260 N. Peters Road -- open now for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Nama Sushi Bar opened Cedar Bluff location on Tuesday
Nama Sushi Bar opened its new location at 260 N. Peters Road at Cedar Bluff Road on Tuesday, replacing Puleo's Grille, which previously operated there.
"Today is the first official day of opening and the lunch crowd has been outstanding," R. Gale Huneycutt Jr., president and CEO of Nama LLC, said via an email Tuesday. "The guests are very excited that we are finally open and so far we have had stellar feedback on the food, service and atmosphere."
West Knoxville to get Nama Sushi Bar at former Puleo's Grille location on Peters Road
R. Gale Huneycutt Jr., president and CEO of Nama LLC, has announced that the Asian-themed restaurant Nama Sushi Bar will be coming to North Peters Road in the former location of Puleo's Grille.
In a news release Huneycutt stated that he had looked at a number of locations in West Knoxville in which to create a Nama and found that "rebranding the highly visible corner location at one of the busiest intersections in Knoxville" was the best option.
This is the third Nama location in Knoxville. The original Nama opened at 506 S. Gay St. in 2004. The Bearden location is at 5130 Kingston Pike at Homberg Place. The restaurant has also expanded into Brentwood and Nashville.
